DGP tells DSPs to be dutiful

Hazaribag: Director General of police G S Rath called upon the newly recruited DSPs to be dutiful and serve the people of the state honestly while reviewing the passing out parade ceremony at the PTC Parade Ground here on Wednesday.

He said unless they provide justice to these people they cannot win the confidence of the masses, particularly in areas which is dominated by influential people. He said that if they fail to provide justice to people in remote areas, the very purpose of their training will be defeated and bring disrepute to the state police as well as the great Police Training College, which will complete one hundred years of its existence in 2012 for this college, which was established in the British period is now not only the pride of Jharkhand but the entire country.

He said since they have now completed 52 weeks of training in this college, they will be posted in the various districts, where their real merit will be put to test and they will have to prove their mettle by winning the confidence of the people.

He said there are various types of problems which includes tackling Naxalism and terrorism, which has stalled the progress of the state. He therefore appealed to them to tackle it firmly to prove their skill and ability. Another issue is tackling law and order, land dispute, various types of domestic problems which they should study minutely and give correct opinions to their superior officers as officers in the district and headquarters will depend on their opinion.

"If their opinions prove wrong the very purpose of their training will be defeated," said the DIG.

The DGP also honoured three DSPs Mukesh Kumar (1st) Amit Kumar Singh (2nd) and Ajay Kumar (3rd) in the training and final examination with medals, trophies and certificates.

Umesh Kumar Singh, DIG-cum-principal of the Police Training College (PTC) said the 35 DSPs were trained in law and order, forensic science, jungle warfare etc.
